Vineyard Vines Growing Among the Ivies

Vineyard Vines, a popular east-coast brand name, abides by the iconic slogan, "Everyday should feel this good". Because of the wealthy and refined status associated with the Connecticut-based company, I find that their most popular consumers are college students, especially among the prestigious, expensive liberal arts colleges on the east coast.

As seen above, it can be noticed that the pink whale sports a satisfied smile and an angelic set of halo and wings, ironically accompanied by a condescending tail representing the sorority, Pi Beta Phi. Often, when one thinks of college Greek life, they automatically associate it with hazing, outrageous partying, and superficial, yet intellectually-inclined students. And how could us Smithies not? Our neighbors are "Zoo-Mass Slam-herst", and Amherst College, both reputable for their scandalous fraternities and sororities. In regard to the typical "prepster" fashion of youthful, yet mature clothing, Vineyard Vines knows that their marketing techniques must grasp the attention of their intended consumer, and what better way than to advertise their company with representation of Greek life, looking ever so approachable and pristine?

In regard to the status behind donning the iconic, eye-catching ties and the women's "Whale Chevron Embroidered Vest", it is known that one who wears this clothing carries a defined sense of who they are and what they represent among fashion, class, and intelligence. Wearing Vineyard Vines apparel symbolizes that one knows the right way to dress in order to entail an image of sophistication and class, with a tad bit of intimidation on the side. For lets face it, if the average, middle-class student were to encounter a highly-educated, liberal arts college student enrobed in an expensive name brand such as Vineyard Vines, don't you think that some sort of intimidation factor would be present in this encounter? I find that this would be an undeniable assumption, for Vineyard Vines knows just how to design their apparel and market their company for this kind of situation and consumer.
