The Perfect "Body"

And Victoria Secret has made controversial headlines once again! The new slogan read "The Perfect Body," however, when the company did not get the best responses from the public the slogan was changed to "A Body For Everybody."

I am more than positive that there women have to be represented within the Victory Secret company. Why on earth would a woman ever feel comfortable to use such a strong word such as "perfect" to describe any physical attribute, let alone support such slogan. I am simply appalled by this slogan. Advertisements and marketing strategy as such will continue to conform to women's body to be objectified and simplified to only one "type."

Do you guys think this was just another marketing strategy of their behalf to get brand attention?

  1. I totally agree. A body which people call "perfect" and "a body for everybody" should not be making the same reference. The models shown in this advertisement is maintaining a good fit for their body as it is their job to make the public want to buy the products they are advertising for. The public should not have to be so crazy about whether their bodies are perfect. Although it may be nice to hear the word, they should not have to follow other people in order to look perfect. As not everyone is perfect, it was definitely a marketing strategy by Victoria Secret in order to make it seem like they have products that are both perfect and for everybody.
